Saturday, July 9th, 2011, the 36th edition of the Carifiesta’s immensely colourful parade will take over the streets of the Montreal downtown area.
More than 250,000 people are expected to attend the downtown streets of Montreal for Carifiesta Parade (Carifete Montreal).
The annual Carifiesta carnival gathers people of all origins in the expression of the joy and light heartedness associated to the Caribbean people.
For six hours the public will vibrate and dance to the rhythm of the Latin, West-Indian and afro-caribbean music, Soca, Calypso and Reggae music as well as the sweet sounds of the Steel Pan orchestras.
Excellent opportunities for families to bring their children at this free and entertaining parade.
The Carifiesta parade will include floats decorated with the colors of the countries being represented, as well as traditional dances, exotic and picturesque costumes.
In 2011, Carifiesta Parade (or Carrifete Montreal) is happening on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at noon, starting at the corner of René-Lévesque and Guy, moving east.
