A unique crossroads of cultural diversity, the Week-ends du monde festival provides Montrealers of all origins with a veritable showcase to celebrate and share their culture and traditions with the general public through music, dance, culinary discoveries, and other activities. Many different cultures at one event featuring more than 50 countries this year.

Many activities for families and children and a good opportunities to spent your weekend surrounded by friends from many different countries and cultures.

Festival de la Cuisine Méditerranéenne-Sunday, July 10

  • Site:Parterre de l’île Sainte-Hélène
  • Time:Noon to 10 p.m.

    A celebration where food is at its artistic apex. The exotic musical renditions of the “Middle Sea” countries are sure to mesmerize festival-goers of all ages and origins. There is a host of activities and entertainment, including: tastings, expositions, conferences, workshops where you can discover Mediterranean cooking, and a wide range of entertaining, educational and thought-provoking family activities.

    Come and enjoy the great celebration of European cultures in Montréal: Armenian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Jewish, Moldavian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Serbian and Ukrainian. Local and international artists will share and create a unique opportunity of discovery and entertainment. This includes music, dance, plastic arts, photography, gastronomy and new and original artistic appearances

    A multicultural festival that promotes inter-cultural integration, harmony, cultural exchanges, arts, music and dance of the Latin-American countries. Every style is represented: merengue, bachata, salsa, cumbia, compas and reggae.

     

     

     

     

     

    Festival International de Steelpan de Montréal- Sunday, July 10

  • Time: 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

    Come and attend a steelpan competition, where the top international groups in steeldrum, a percussion instrument originating in Trinidad-and-Tobago, will be in calypso-music competition.

    A presentation of shows by various cultural communities, in collaboration with the Société du patrimoine d’expression du Québec (SPEQ). Traditional dance and music performances with 20 folkloric groups from different cultures in Montréal.
