In the summer time, Mount Royal hosts a popular activity known as the "Tam Tam Jam". Montrealers and visitors play hand drums ("tam-tams" in French) at the George-Étienne Cartier Monument.
Tam-tam players keep the atmosphere running and dozens of people are dancing.
