Bal en Blanc–White Party–19th - Mar 31, 2013 Montreal

For its 19th edition, which will be taking place from Thursday March 28 to Monday April 01 2013, Montreal’s bnbWhiteParty Week is preparing to get the entire city up and moving and to confirm its status as the springtime event par excellence.

For the annual event – taking place this year the night of Sunday, March 31 – some 15,000 devotees of electronic dance music are once again expected at Palais des congrès de
Montréal, where they’ll be able to frolic to their hearts’ content over 15 hours of nonstop rhythms
delivered by the cream of international DJs and producers. Headlining in the main room, David Guetta will
be visiting Montreal especially for the occasion, making no other appearances anywhere else in Canada
during this period.

Complementing Bal en Blanc itself, a number of related events light up various clubs in town during the four other days that White Party Week runs.

Haiti en Folie – 5ed, Montreal 2011

“Haiti en Folie” the 5th edition is  the largest  festival outside of Haiti totally dedicated to Haitian culture. This year between July 22-24 in Montreal.

“Haiti en Folie”, the best of Haitian culture in a weekend in Montreal!

There's something for everyone: theater, folk dance, Hip Hop, Rap, Voodoo, Reggae, Gastronomy, Literature.

The program includes: Two nights burning outdoor Theatre de Verdure in Lafontaine Park, a conference with Haitian historian Michel Sukkar and evening hot and spicy at the Théâtre St-Denis

Heavy MTL is North-America’s premier destination heavy music festival and takes place in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Heavy MTL 2011 will be held on July 23rd and 24th in the breathtaking site that is Parc Jean-Drapeau at Île Saint-Hélène, Montréal.

The first edition of the festival took place in June 2008 and saw the likes of Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Disturbed, Three Days Grace, Dethklok, Anthrax, Type O Negative, Mastodon, and many others shred their way through an intense two-day celebration of heavy music.

The 2010 edition of Heavy MTL saw 42,500 faithful bang their heads in unison to the likes of thrash legends Slayer and Megadeth, as well as Rob Zombie, Korn, Alice Cooper, Lamb of God, and many more!

Cambodian Festival Montreal–July 16th 2011

The 12th edition of the Cambodian Festival is taking place Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Parc Jean-Drapeau, as part of Weekend World .

The Cambodian history and culture will be related through music and dance shows on the stage and by tastings of Khmer food and exhibitions under the cultural tent.

Cambodian Festival (Festival Cambodgien)

  • Site: Parterre de l’île Sainte-Hélène
  • Time: Noon to 10 p.m.

Many activities under the big tent of the Festival of Intercultural exchange located on the grounds of the St. Helena Island Montreal:

  • tasting Cambodian dishes, cambodian
  • discover the Khmer history and culture through,
  • shows objects of art, photographs
  • colourful traditional clothes of silk and cotton worn daily or religious ceremonies, so the sampan and sarong (long skirts) and Kram (long scarf), and the beautiful glittering costumes and embroidered Mekala classical dance (the story of a princess and an ogre ...).
  • admire all these beautiful clothes on the big stage of Loto-Québec at a fashion show presented by our volunteers.

On the main stage two singers accompanied by an orchestra Cambodia-Montreal, whose songs will make you a rhythm to the sound of rock and Asian madison!

The popular games (hoops, scarves, etc..), Folk dances, the Nesat (fishermen) and the Khmer Leu (the Khmer mountain), and the classic, which Mekala, and many other surprises .

For families with children the kids corner is a must see: inflatable games, cotton candy, etc...
